About the Role

Organization: Council of Social Workers
Location: Hybrid

Introduction:

The Council of Social Workers is inviting qualified and experienced professionals to serve as members of its specialized Board Committees. We are seeking individuals of high integrity, professional excellence, and strategic vision to provide oversight and guidance to the organization.

Available Committee Positions:

  • Finance Committee: Responsible for reviewing the organization's financial performance, approving budgets, and overseeing long-term financial sustainability.
  • Audit Committee: Provides independent oversight of financial reporting, internal controls, and risk management processes.
  • Education and Curriculum Development Committee: Provides leadership on the validation and development of professional standards, academic curricula, and training modules.
  • Disciplinary Committee: Responsible for reviewing professional conduct matters, ensuring adherence to the code of ethics, and recommending appropriate disciplinary actions in accordance with the law.

Requirements for Prospective Members:

  • Professional Qualification: A degree or professional certification relevant to the specific committee (e.g., Accounting/Finance for Finance/Audit; Education/Social Work for Education; Law/Ethics for Disciplinary).
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years of senior-level experience in their respective fields.
  • Governance Competence: Experience in board service or senior management committee roles is highly desirable.
  • Integrity: A track record of ethical decision-making and professional conduct.

Responsibilities:

  • Participate in scheduled quarterly committee meetings and ad-hoc briefings.
  • Provide expert advice to the Board of Directors on committee-specific policy and strategy.
  • Review reports and documents to ensure institutional compliance and performance excellence.
